Cushman & Wakefield | Commerce Remembers and Pays Tribute to the Late Keith W. Bassett

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Mar 4, 2015) - Keith W. Bassett, a senior director in the Las Vegas office of Cushman & Wakefield | Commerce passed last week at the age of 75. Bassett was a highly trusted and well-respected commercial real estate professional.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Keith and we send our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to his family," said Mike Dunn, C&W | Commerce Las Vegas Market Leader. "Keith's passing has been deeply felt. He brought a level of wisdom, knowledge and passion to all aspects of his work that was an inspiration to all of us who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. Keith will be greatly missed."

Bassett was a pillar of the commercial real estate market with more than 45 years in the industry. The Commercial Alliance Las Vegas (CALV) recently presented him with a well-earned lifetime achievement award. In addition, BOMA Nevada, the Building Owners and Managers Association, honored the outstanding career of Keith this past year.

His decades of service to the community and to the local commercial real estate industry have left a lasting impact that will continue on over many decades to come.

In 1975, Bassett founded Realty Holdings Group in Las Vegas and operated the company until it was acquired by Burnham Real Estate in 2004. Beginning in 1975 and continuing until Realty Holdings Group was sold, Bassett worked with and represented the Molasky Group of Companies and company founder Irwin Molasky in leasing and managing their local developments. As a result, he was involved in bringing some of the nation's leading and largest retailers to Southern Nevada. He managed and leased millions of square feet of office and retail space in the Las Vegas valley.

Bassett left a lasting legacy of selfless service by contributing to many local business and civic organizations, including two terms as the Nevada state director of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He was a president of the Las Vegas Rotary Club as well as the chairman of the UNLV President's Associates Foundation. He was also a trustee for UNLV's Lied School of Real Estate, and he served as the chairman of Catholic Community Services of Southern Nevada. He was also on the local board of directors for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Las Vegas and the Boy Scouts of America.
