Customer Reviews Prove a Huge Hit for Wiggle

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Oct. 5, 2010) - Britain's number one online bikes retailer Wiggle.co.uk has seen shoppers post more than 100,000 product reviews on its award-winning website.

Wiggle launched its customer review system last summer and within the first month more than 18,000 reviews were submitted. Little more than a year later, the total number of reviews on site has exceeded the 100,000 mark.

Martin Talbot, Wiggle's director of marketing, said: "Our customer review system was popular from day one so it's no surprise to see us reach this benchmark so quickly. We're delighted our shoppers enjoy leaving their own feedback; it makes our site far more interactive and the reviews are a worthy source of product information for customers when browsing."

He added: "Our shoppers find that having access to so many different product reviews written by people who have bought and used the item gives them far greater knowledge and confidence than a typical product description."

Customers are asked to give the product an overall rating out of five and also rate quality, value, performance, appearance and fit. More than 90 per cent of reviews have been rated four or above with the average score for 2010 currently at 4.42.

The most reviewed products include the Cateye Strada Wireless Cycle Computer, the Orca S2 triathlon wetsuit and Continental's Ultra Gator Duraskin Road Tyre. Several items from the dhb range - Wiggle's exclusive brand of clothing - feature among the most reviewed products too, with the dhb Earnley Cycling Bib Shorts and the dhb Triple Lens Sunglasses in the top five.

Wiggle's customer review system allows shoppers to write a full review, upload photos and videos, choose pros and cons, recommend a product to a friend and comment on how helpful they found a review. There are also search and filter capabilities as well as a Q&A section so shoppers can post questions which can be answered by both Wiggle staff and customers.

Wiggle offers free delivery to more than 70 countries worldwide and in July this year had 3.4 million visits to its site, which was a 62 per cent increase on July 2009. It has been named Britain's most visited cycle website by Experian Hitwise since 2006.
