Customers Choose onQ From QuorumLabs for Simplified, Enterprise-Class Business Continuity

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwire - October 26, 2010) -  QuorumLabs today announced several new customers from across the U.S. have chosen the easy-to-use, turnkey onQ appliance to meet their business continuity needs. Customers such as Platinum Energy, Richard Fleishman & Associates, F&M Bank, and Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling now rely on the onQ solution to go beyond backup, instantly restoring their critical business applications and data should a disaster occur. These represent only a few of the new onQ customers across the key vertical markets of financial, retail and professional services.

"We're excited by the strong customer response we're seeing," said Larry Lang, CEO of QuorumLabs. "The rapid adoption of onQ demonstrates that customers value our approach of integrating world-class technology into a simple appliance that provides everything needed for complete business continuity. QuorumLabs was also recently chosen by ChannelWeb as one of only 25 'coolest' emerging vendors who are changing the game through innovation with interesting products and services. This recognition, combined with excellent customer references, validates the unique value delivered by onQ."

onQ goes beyond off-site and on-line backup and makes complete business continuity possible by providing simple one-click recovery -- starting an up-to-date virtual copy of the failed server right on the appliance. While backup solutions archive data, companies must be able to restore that data and have applications up and running within minutes of a disaster -- instead of the hours or days it would take with other solutions.

"Historically backup has provided a somewhat false sense of security," said Eric Slack, senior analyst, Storage Switzerland. "Companies did have copies of their data stored, but many found out there was a sizable gap between restoring backed up data and actually continuing the business. QuorumLabs' onQ appliance closes this gap and gives companies of any size the ability to restore critical applications in a few minutes and have true business continuity about as easily as putting in a backup storage device."

According to Gregg Blank of Platinum Energy, "As a wholesale fuel supplier, Platinum Energy deals with real-time pricing and supply chain information that is critical to our business. The onQ solution not only solves our back-up needs, but also functions as a disaster recovery platform so that if any of our servers go down, the onQ solution transparently takes over with the single click of a button."

New onQ Customers

  • Platinum Energy (Agoura Hills, Calif.) -- Real-time pricing and supply chain information is critical to this wholesale fuel supplier, who uses onQ to achieve high availability and disaster recovery to protect against day-to-day service interruptions.
  • Richard Fleishman & Associates (New York) -- Technology advisor to 400 hedge funds and alternative asset firms, RFA employs onQ to give businesses prompt access to up-to-date applications and data in the event of a storage, server or entire site failure.
  • F&M Bank (offices throughout Tennessee) -- With 19 offices, F&M Bank has replaced time-consuming tape back-ups with onQ for automated backup as well as fast recovery in the event of a failure.
  • Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling (Birmingham, Mich.) -- Certified public accounting firm FMD switched to onQ since their existing tape backup was unable to provide instant recovery of its data should a disaster occur.
