PETALUMA, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 12, 2012) - Cyan today announced the addition of four highly skilled and experienced executives to target international markets and expand the sales and reach of its Blue Planet software-defined network (SDN) system and Z-Series packet-optical transport platforms. With key teams now operating in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, Cyan is able to meet worldwide demand for its solutions. Cyan's international markets are led by: Paul Couturier, vice president and general manager, Europe, Middle East, and Africa; Mike Scheck, vice president, Latin America; Andy Wu, vice president, North Asia and Japan; and Chris Jacobson, vice president, Southeast Asia. These additions are led by John Halliwell and join an already successful North American team led by Eric Clelland.

Previously announced in March of this year, John Halliwell has been serving as vice president of worldwide field operations, and will lead Cyan's team of five regional theater heads. Halliwell brings over 20 years of experience in senior management roles at both public and private technology companies.
Eric Clelland, co-founder, CMO and vice president of North American sales is responsible for driving strategy and messaging for Cyan. He continues to work with customers in bringing their innovative services to market and is involved with shaping the company's marketing and communications strategy. Eric's extensive background ranges from sales to systems engineering and business development for companies including Ameritech, Caymas, Cerent, Cisco, and DSC Communications. Eric was a senior sales executive at Cisco, leading a national sales operation selling all Cisco products.
Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)
Paul Couturier, vice president and general manager of EMEA sales is responsible for sales and international channel partnerships and business development throughout the region. Paul is an accomplished sales and business executive with European and Asian experience and a proven ability to develop profitable channels and international alliances, solution-oriented partnerships, and high-performance teams. Paul previously held the positions of vice president of sales in Europe at BlueCat Networks; vice president and general manager for EMEA and APAC at TippingPoint; president of the broadband division at Siemens; and vice president EMEA and APAC at Efficient Networks.
Latin America (LATAM)
Mike Scheck, vice president of Latin American sales is responsible for sales in this vast and diverse region, and he has sales and engineering experience throughout the Americas. Prior to joining Cyan, Mike was vice president of international sales at Zhone Technologies and has held executive management and management positions at Lucent Technologies, Ascend Communications, ACC and US West. At Lucent, Mike was senior vice president for the Sprint and Worldcom business units and prior to that, vice president for strategic ISP Accounts while at Ascend.
North Asia--Andy Wu, vice president of North Asia and Japan is responsible for Cyan's North Asia and Japan theater business, including Japan, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Andy has over 25 years of experience in senior leadership roles in technology including Unix, Networking, Security and Storage related IT industry. Prior to joining Cyan, Andy was Regional Vice President of Symantec Greater China, vice president of Cisco China, managing director of 3Com North Asia, and sales leader at AT&T-GIS/NCR Taiwan.
Southeast Asia--Chris Jacobson, vice president, Southeast Asia is responsible for Cyan's sales throughout the southeastern APAC region. Chris brings to Cyan 37 years of sales, engineering and management experience. Chris's successful track record throughout the APAC region embraces communications, security, Internet and software and he has worked for such companies as IBM, Amdahl, Alcatel, Cisco, 3Com, RealNetworks and Checkpoint.
