Cyan Chief Technology Officer to Present on Software-Defined Networks at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2012

PETALUMA, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 11, 2012) -  Cyan today announced that Steve West, chief technology officer, will deliver a presentation, "Software-Defined Networks: What Every Metro Ethernet Provider Needs to Know" at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Orlando, Florida. The presentation is part of a larger panel session, "From Proprietary to Next Generation: Provisioning and Service Activation of the Future," moderated by George Kakatsakis, vice president of CableLabs. The Business Services workshop panel will present on October 16 and again on October 18, and also includes Brian Hedstrom, senior architect at CableLabs, and Chuck Kaplan, vice president, industry marketing at Ciena Corporation.

Cyan's presentation will include an overview of key software-defined networking (SDN) concepts, strategies, and emerging standards and demonstrate how metro Ethernet providers can leverage SDN within metro networks to enable compelling next generation service innovation and dramatic cost reductions.
