Cyan CTO to Discuss Technology Advancements for Delivering Advanced Ethernet SLAs at TIA 2011: Inside the Network

Steve West Will Join Juniper Networks and DukeNet on the Carrier Ethernet with Advanced SLAs: The Emerging Operator Differentiator Panel at the First Annual TIA Event

PETALUMA, CA--(Marketwire - May 12, 2011) - Cyan today announced the company will be presenting at the first annual TIA 2011: Inside the Network conference taking place next week, May 17-20 at the Gaylord Texan in Dallas. Cyan CTO Steve West will discuss the importance of a multi-layer approach to network design and advanced SLA reporting along with Juniper Networks and wholesale network operator DukeNet.

As Carrier Ethernet services continue to take on more critical transport applications and end customers' business operations rely on the network's performance, multi-layer network design and SLA reporting also becomes more critical. By taking a multi-layer approach to network planning, which evaluates all layers of a packet-optical transport network, operators can better predict end-to-end SLA performance of planned and available network routes and ultimately take advantage of the ability to deliver differentiated SLAs for higher margins.

Cyan vice president of marketing and international sales, Frank Wiener, will moderate the panel session titled "Carrier Ethernet with Advanced SLAs: The Emerging Operator Differentiator." In this panel session, Cyan CTO Steve West will join Juniper Networks' vice president for Technical and Solutions, Wendy Cartee and DukeNet senior vice president, Network & Customer Operations, David A. Fulmer to discuss this multi-layer approach, drawing on examples from DukeNet's network. Headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., DukeNet controls more than 5,300 miles of fiber optic capacity throughout the southeastern United States. Supported by innovative solutions from both Cyan and Juniper, DukeNet serves wholesale and enterprise customers with a variety of services including wireless backhaul, data center and co-location offerings.
