Cyan Expands Executive Team With the Addition of Tom Corker

Veteran of Cerent and Calix Assumes Leadership for Cyan's Product Management and Business Development

PETALUMA, CA--(Marketwire - July 14, 2010) -  Cyan today announced the addition of Tom Corker as vice president of product management and business development. Corker will lead the day-to-day product planning and management activities as well as the CyAlliance and strategic partnership activities. The combined focus on internal product developments and eco-system partnerships enables a full solutions focus on Cyan's market-leading packet-optical transport systems. Corker brings to Cyan a strong track record of success and innovation at Advanced Fibre Communications (AFC), Cerent and Calix.

"Tom's product and business development experience, plus his track record in developing successful relationships with service providers, makes him yet another positive dimension to our company," said Michael Hatfield, CEO of Cyan. "Having Tom come on board and provide further focus on the product management and partnership sides of business development enhances those activities, while enabling us to better serve our existing customers and continue the expansion of the business."

About Tom Corker

Prior to Calix, Corker was vice president of product marketing at Cerent Corporation, an industry leader in high-speed optical transport that was purchased by Cisco Systems for $7B in 1999. Prior to Cerent, Tom served as a director of product marketing at AFC. During his tenure, AFC went from start-up to a publicly traded company. Tom also has held development roles working on next-generation access products at DSC, acquired by Alcatel in 1998, and Nortel Networks.
