Cyan Hosts Webinar to Discuss Status, Implications and Opportunities of USF/CAF Reform

PETALUMA, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 18, 2012) - Cyan today announced that Frank Wiener, vice president of marketing at Cyan, will host, "USF/CAF Reforms: Status, Implications & Opportunities," the first installment in a webinar series, on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Cyan's webinar will interactively address the status of Universal Services Fund (USF) and the new Connect America Fund (CAF), as well as their policies and implications for telecommunications service providers. The webinar, featuring Russell P. Hanser and L. Charles Keller, partners at one of the nation's top-tier communications law firms, Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP, will be live at 2:00 p.m. ET, with later access to its recording.

USF/CAF reforms have major implications for telecommunications service providers of all sizes, but the impact on individual service providers is still unclear. Cyan has teamed with one of the nation's top communications law firms to provide ongoing expertise in this webinar series. Hanser and Keller will explore the current status of the key policies defined to date, the implications and status of key policies that have yet to be defined or have been legally challenged, and the anticipated upcoming milestones and potential implications.

A live question and answer session during the webinar will allow participants to inquire of these well-respected regulatory experts regarding USF/CAF reform, inter-carrier compensation, and other related issues. Wiener will review potential implications of these reforms, as well as discuss what service providers can do to expand into new revenue-generation opportunities and to reduce the costs of scaling and operating networks during this period of industry transformation.
