Cyan to Present on "Unleashing LTE Backhaul With Carrier Ethernet 2.0 and SDN/Virtualization Strategies" Webinar With Carrier Ethernet News

Cyan's Rafael Francis to Present Along With Overture and Infonetics Research

PETALUMA, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 18, 2012) - Cyan today announced that Rafael Francis, senior director of solutions marketing, will participate on the Carrier Ethernet News webinar titled, "Unleashing LTE Backhaul with Carrier Ethernet 2.0 and SDN/Virtualization Strategies," the second installment in a CE 2.0 webinar series, on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. Rafael's presentation will explore how the elements of CE 2.0 and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) strategies improve network scaling and manageability. The webinar, also featuring Scott Knox, Director of Solutions Development at Overture, and Michael Howard, co-founder and principal analyst at Infonetics Research, will take place at 11 a.m. EDT.

With the proliferation of smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices driving bandwidth consumption, LTE adoption is growing rapidly and will become the single mobile network standard adopted by most of the world in the next 5 to 10 years, according to Infonetics Research. CE 2.0 will improve the scalability and manageability of Ethernet backhaul networks, and SDN will play a pivotal role in making the backhaul network more agile and programmable through the use of open architectures and virtualization.

This webinar will look at the trends in mobile backhaul and how to achieve the goals that service providers have in terms of capacity growth, small cell implementations, and converged infrastructures.
