Cyan to Speak on New Backhaul Opportunities for Alternative Access Vendors Panel at Light Reading Backhaul Strategies Conference

PETALUMA, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 25, 2012) - Cyan today announced that Eric Clelland, vice president of North American sales at Cyan, will participate on the panel, "New Backhaul Opportunities for Alternative Access Vendors" at the Light Reading conference Backhaul & 4G Core Strategies for Mobile Operators in New York City. Patrick Donegan, senior analyst at Heavy Reading, will moderate the session on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. ET. Executives from Zayo, Conterra and Accedian Networks will join Eric on the panel.

Mobile operators are making progress in their transition to packet backhaul networks with fiber and IP/Ethernet technologies. Addressing topics such as growing traffic volumes, this year's event will track how operator attention is now also focusing on the end-to-end optimization of packet services as network and services move to all-packet architectures.

Alternative Access Vendors, including wholesalers and cable operators, are critically contributing to the success of 3G and 4G. The "Backhaul Stream" panelists will discuss how alternative wholesalers are meeting the demanding SLAs of the wireless carriers and the evolution in their business models and technology requirements. This session's participants will debate the industry's roadmap for these key players in terms of the next level of coverage, capacity, performance and features that they deliver with their mobile backhaul services.
