DETAILS:

On the fourth annual Money Matters National Education Day, payroll professionals from around the country will be on mission to stamp out financial illiteracy. This year the current economic crisis made this mission even more important. Flores will teach WOS graduates and students -- young adults who are new to or about to enter the workforce -- the basics of paychecks and the payroll withholding system. During her presentation, based on America Payroll Association's lesson plans, she will discuss the elements of a paycheck, the amount of taxes that are withheld and how those taxes are calculated. Altier, a financial expert with 30 years of financial management experience, will supplement the "Bringing Home the Gold" course with a half-hour discussion of savings.

This presentation, sponsored by CyberShift, will augment WOS' training and education that helps inner city students develop the technological and social skills needed for a career in IT services while providing businesses an alternative to offshore outsourcing.
