CYBF Welcomes New Community Partner (engage)

RED DEER, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - May 26, 2011) - The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) is pleased to welcome (engage) to its network of Community Partners. To celebrate (engage)'s support for youth entrepreneurship and commitment in assisting CYBF, an official partnership launch luncheon will be held on Thursday May 26, from 11:30-1:00pm at the Holiday Inn on 67 Street, Red Deer.

CYBF, Canada's go-to place for youth entrepreneurship, relies on its Community Partners (CP) to act as local representatives in their communities. CPs offer guidance and resources to budding entrepreneurs in the business planning stage and beyond. CPs bring together Loan Review Committees to support the selection of young entrepreneurs for CYBF programs and they enlist the help of community business leaders to volunteer as mentors. Together, CYBF and CPs work to ensure young, passionate entrepreneurs have the tools and resources they need to be successful in Canada and beyond.

"We are pleased to be working with (engage), a volunteer-driven group of current and future business leaders in Red Deer, to promote youth entrepreneurship," said Christi Millar, Director, CYBF Alberta. "(engage) volunteers understand the importance, the challenges and the opportunities associated with starting and running a business because many of them are entrepreneurs themselves. Through this partnership, we look forward to reaching out to young entrepreneurs in central Alberta to help them start a business and contribute to the economic development of their communities."

"(engage) is very excited to work with CYBF," said Tyler Bowman, Vice President, (engage). "The goals of CYBF align perfectly with [engage]'s mandate to support young professionals and entrepreneurs in central Alberta. We are happy to be promoting CYBF's programs and taking part in the loan review process at a local level. "[engage] strives to develop the skills, knowledge and networks of young professionals in central Alberta by offering relevant and informative events, presentations and courses. It joins the roster of the more than 170 CYBF Community Partners in cities within all 13 Canadian provinces and territories.

Economic development in Red Deer has a significant impact on Alberta's economy as a whole. To support aspiring young entrepreneurs in this city, CYBF will also begin hosting a six-part business planning workshop series, starting on May 28th, to give them the tools they need to start their own businesses.
