WASHINGTON, DC and SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - April 24, 2008) - Web 2.0 Expo -- Cynergy Systems, Inc., the global
leader in Rich
Internet Application (RIA) design and development, today announced that
San Francisco-based Bright School has selected the company to design and
develop its Software as a Service (SaaS) delivered application. Intended to
empower schools to better help students succeed and emulate the familiar
tools, such as the grade book, that K-12 teachers rely on. The
Cynergy-designed and developed application will help Bright School foster
collaboration between parents, teachers, students and administrators.
Bright School was founded with the intent of changing the paradigm
previously existing between these key constituents. Historically, these
audiences have received information from older student information systems
using antiquated technologies and paper based processes. With the advent
of No Child Left Behind
(NCLB) and increasing pressure for schools to drive student
performance, garnering parental participation has become a key challenge
for schools. Bright School created a methodology to bring home life and
school life together and turned to Cynergy for assistance in designing and
developing the first-of-its-kind Student Achievement System.
Joseph Puthur, chief executive officer of Bright School, commented, "We
have a very unique business model that makes our solution extremely
appealing to school districts: we give it to schools for free. In order to
be successful with this model, users must absolutely love our software and
understand how to use it with very little help. Cynergy was able to grasp
the importance of both our business philosophy and address usability
aspects of a system that will be used by a wide variety of individuals. The
entire user interface design is brilliant because it appeals to low-tech
and high-tech users and works in a manner that everyone understands. One
click from the application means parents, students and teachers can be
connected and collaborating."
"Cynergy also applied their intimate understanding of how to maximize the
capabilities of Adobe Flex," Puthur continued. "This provides school
administrators a view of what historically was endless amounts of paper as
clear graphs and charts, which will help them easily put the intelligence
to use. Their LookFirst™ methodology enabled us to gather input from dozens of resources and
thereby create a design that incorporated everyone's needs while remaining
simple and intuitive. This would not have been possible without Cynergy's
unique approach."
Dave Wolf, vice president, Cynergy, said, "When you combine startup
entrepreneurism with the speed to market of Cynergy's development teams and
LookFirst approach, you get these experiences to market faster than ever
imagined. Rich, interactive and sticky user experiences are the future for
leading companies of today and tomorrow, and in the case of Bright School,
the future of our children. We're incredibly excited to be a part of
building this exciting future."
The Bright School application is currently being piloted in a select group
of districts. General availability is anticipated in the fall of 2008.
