Cystic Fibrosis Trust Selects Widen Media Collective to Manage Charity's Digital Assets

UK-Based Non-Profit Implements Widen Digital Asset Management Solution to Improve Workflow and Collaboration

MADISON, WI--(Marketwired - February 23, 2016) - Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a UK-based charity supporting people living with cystic fibrosis and those who care for them, has selected the Widen Media Collective for its digital asset management (DAM) needs. Cystic Fibrosis Trust will use Widen's cloud-based DAM solution to store and share photos, logos, videos and other digital media files, to improve efficiency for its employees, and enable easier sharing among volunteers, news media and others.

The organization was already using a different shared asset management system, but many employees work remotely and found themselves waiting minute after minute to scroll through just a few photos, making work difficult for everyone from designers to web developers.

"We needed something everyone could use to work quickly and easily, on the go or on the train," said Marcel Reinard, multimedia content producer for Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Reinard says he began researching a better solution, at first reading reviews and asking around to see which products other non-profits use. As a charity, Reinard explained, it's especially important to be careful with cost, so finding the right price was a key factor in choosing Widen.

As part of his search, Reinard brainstormed which "must-have" items were crucial in a new DAM system, from the ability to easily edit photos on the fly, to keyword tagging. "Widen pretty much hit all of [my list]," Reinard says.

But Reinard was won over by Widen's sales pitch -- or rather, the lack of one. "From the moment I spoke with [Widen], it did not feel like a sales pitch," he said. "There was no pressure on us."

The Widen advisor's in-depth knowledge of the platform gave him confidence he was making the right decision. "We had real conversations, and I really appreciated the kind of work that was put into meeting our needs," he said.

"While the Cystic Fibrosis Trust will immediately recognize the value for their internal teams, expanding the DAM to media and public relation teams, leveraging Widen integrations will be a seamless experience backed by guidance and support from Widen ongoing," states Brenna Hale, Widen senior advisor.

Reinard and his colleagues at Cystic Fibrosis Trust are excited to get started. Designers, members of the web team and event planners will all use the system in various ways, no matter where they work.

Reinard hopes to expand access to the news media or fundraising teams across the country who could, for example, upload photos from local events with a few simple clicks. "Everything works so well, and is simple to use," he said. "This is going to be incredibly useful for us."
