D-Link Now Shipping Compact and Affordable mydlink™-Enabled Network Camera

DCS-930L Wireless N Network Camera Provides a Better Way to Stay Connected to Home While On-the-Go With Internet Based mydlink™ Portal and iPhone App

MISSISSAUGA, ON--(Marketwire - October 25, 2010) -  D-Link, the end-to-end computer networking solutions provider for consumers, businesses, and service providers today began shipping a compact and affordable network camera for under $100 that allows users to remotely view live streaming video through the company's www.mydlink.com portal with multi-browser support and while on-the-go with an iPhone app.

The new D-Link® Wireless N Network Camera (DCS-930L) is 'mydlink-enabled' allowing it to be easily and securely viewed and managed via the mydlink™ portal, providing customers with an easier way to experience a connected, digital lifestyle. Other 'mydlink-enabled' cameras include the DCS-1130 which was announced last year.

Unlike a traditional USB-connected webcam, the DCS-930L is a complete system with a built-in CPU and web server that transmits high quality video images for security and surveillance directly to the network without the need for a PC. Simple installation and an intuitive web-based interface offer easy integration with your Ethernet or 802.11n wireless network. The DCS-930L also comes with D-ViewCam™ camera management software which includes recording and motion detection features for a complete and cost-effective home monitoring solution.

With the addition of an iPhone app, users can view a live feed from any of the "mydlink" family of cameras using the mydlink portal from their phones. For added convenience, users can view a live feed from the cameras using any 3G-enabled cell phone, PDA or any compatible 3GPP RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) mobile streaming capable device*.

"The DCS-930L and the mydlink line of cameras is bringing home monitoring technology at an accessible price point for consumers," said Lou Reda, Vice President and General Manager, Consumer Division, D-Link Canada. "With mobile viewing support and notification alerts, the customer will always have the means to know what is happening through the lens of their camera."

Due to the camera's small size and easy installation, users are offered a discreet and flexible way to check on their home, children or pets in real time from virtually anywhere with Internet access or within the customer's mobile network.

Price and Availability

The DCS-930L is currently available throughout D-Link's vast network of retail and etail outlets like Best Buy and Staples in Canada, and at the company's online store, www.dlinkshop.ca with a street price of under $100.
