D2L Supports Small and Mid-Sized Organizations With Bundled Services Designed to Help Focus on Learning Instead of Administration

KITCHENER-WATERLOO, ON--(Marketwired - June 12, 2015) - D2L (formerly "Desire2Learn"), an edtech industry leader and creator of the Brightspace learning platform, announces that it has launched a services bundle designed to help small and mid-sized organizations stay focused on teaching and learning during a period of significant consolidation and change. Many colleges are being challenged with declining enrollments and shifting endowments, and organizations with shrinking budgets, making it more difficult for them to remain competitive. D2L's new offering combines administration services and end user support to help schools, colleges and organizations with the day-to-day administration and support required for their online offerings and are offered in tandem with the Brightspace LMS.

"With this offering and the Brightspace platform, D2L is supporting organizations by minimizing the cost and overhead associated with administration and support for introducing and growing online learning programs. The services are designed to ease administrative burdens so that the focus can remain on teaching and learning," said Craig Walford, Senior Vice President, Services and Customer Success, Customer Support, D2L.

"A key strategy for growth has been expanding online class offerings and programs at Mercy College of Ohio. A part of this strategy included finding an LMS that was affordable, functional, and easy to use. In Spring 2010, we only had 33 sections with access to Brightspace and just five years later, we have 261 sections with access. Additionally, every instructor is expected to use the platform in some capacity, whether they are teaching an online or traditional class. I truly believe we provide a better service to our students by having an intuitive LMS, which in turn, helps retention and recruitment efforts," said Christina Siegfried, Interim Director of Distance Education, Mercy College of Ohio Distance Education.

The new services bundle includes administration services to manage parts or the entire administration of the Brightspace platform. It also includes end user support by email and digital chat for both faculty and students. The bundle will help enable organizations across K-12, higher education and enterprise to free up time and resources and better manage costs.

Organizations can learn more and begin to take advantage of this offering by joining an upcoming webinar -- Growing Your Online Presence -- on Monday, June 15 at 1pm ET. Click here to register.
