Daily Deals See Huge Growth From Affiliate Programs

LivingSocial, BuyWithMe, Tippr, and Others Manage Affiliates Using HasOffers

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - May 24, 2011) - HasOffers (www.hasoffers.com), a tracking technology provider, credits the rapid growth of Daily Deals sites by pointing to their affiliate programs. Sites like LivingSocial, BuyWithMe, and Tippr all use HasOffers to pay other websites and marketers (affiliates) to send them new subscribers. Combined, the daily deals sites using HasOffers (several not listed here) are paying affiliates more than $18,500 per day for the new subscribers they receive. That's nearly $6 million per year which is huge for a single vertical, and this figure does not even include Groupon who outsources their affiliate program.

Affiliates are promoting deals sites like LivingSocial, BuyWithMe and Tippr through their affiliate programs powered by HasOffers' software, and because of the regional relevance local deals have with their customers, they are experiencing huge success. Visitors will always see something that is familiar or perhaps even something they recognize when they view an affiliate banner or click on an affiliate link. As a result, the ads are extremely effective, making affiliates happy because they are compensated based on the new customers they are able to provide. Publishers or website owners with broad audiences stretching across the United States can display advertising content that is specific to each visitor, increasing their chances to get paid.

"The nature of our business model is already word-of-mouth. Our customer base wants to share deals with their friends so they can meet the goal and get the deal," says Martin Tobias, CEO, Tippr. "This same social attitude crosses over to our affiliate program, which is why it is so successful."

For example, say LivingSocial or Tippr posts a daily deal for a restaurant in Seattle. A potential customer in Seattle might see an ad while reading their favorite political blog out of Chicago, but that ad will actually show them the deal that is relevant to their region and they are well on their way to trying out a new restaurant. The best part is that the Daily Deals site only has to pay the Chicago blogger if the reader actually signs up for their service. That means their advertising spend is directly correlated with their revenue, a luxury many marketing channels do not provide.

"Affiliates are blurring the lines between the online and offline worlds by promoting local deals sites, featuring brick-and-mortar businesses," said Lucas Brown, CEO, HasOffers. "HasOffers software allows online advertisers and affiliates to easily track and manage each offer and is an obvious choice for daily deal sites looking for ways to better incentivize affiliates."

Recently awarded "Service Provider of the Year" by the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA), HasOffers has quickly made a name for their technology and services, growing more than 500 percent last year and now tracking more than $300 million in yearly affiliate payouts.
