                                            Dakota Salts Update

Sirius Exploration Plc, the mining and exploration company, announces that Dakota Salts LLC ('Dakota
Salts'), the North Dakota exploration company in which it has a 51% shareholding, has commenced the
selection process to appoint consultants to carry out a feasibility report on its property in North Dakota
for the use of the salt caverns for energy storage and also to provide an estimate of the potential
reserves of potash and salt covered by its 5,000 acres of leases. A formal appointment is expected shortly.

Further consulting studies are being commissioned to assess the potential for natural gas storage or the
storage of electricity through compressed air following the extraction of the minerals from these caverns.

Richard Poulden, Chairman of Sirius, commented:

"Given the amount of information already in the public domain on Williston, it is important that the exact
geology of the land in the Dakota Salts lease area is established as we believe there is significant
potential to extend the economic life-cycle of the property after the potash and salt deposits have been
mined by creating a major underground storage facility for compressed air for electricity storage or
natural gas on the site.

North Dakota has been identified as a key location for the development of wind farms by the US Department
of Energy and we are particularly keen to explore the compressed air possibilities given that it provides
one of the few viable and effective renewable methods for storing the energy generated by wind farms.
Additionally, gas storage and electricity generation would provide considerable ongoing cash flow to the
Company after the Potash and salt reserves have been extracted."

Dakota Salts

According to public documents, the 5,000 acre lease reaches over the prairie evaporate formation of the
Williston Basin - which is known to be one of the world's major deposits for salt and potash. The deposits
in North Dakota are a direct continuation of the well known potash deposits in Saskatchewan in Canada. The
area has been explored extensively with both drilling and seismic surveys in the search for oil and all
this data is publicly available from the state government.

Based on documents in the public domain, the salt and potash deposits in North Dakota range in depth
between 5,000 and 12,000 feet. Geologists estimate that North Dakota holds some 50 billion tons of potash
of which 10 billion tons is known to be economically recoverable using current technology.

Sirius Exploration

Sirius is quoted on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange in London and is also planning to have its
shares traded in North America through the use of an ADR facility. Sirius currently has secured copper and
gold deposits in Macedonia and a royalty interest in a tungsten mine in China.

It also owns 51% Dakota Salts LLC, based in Denver, USA, which holds mineral leases in excess of 5,000
acres in North Dakota, USA, allowing for the exploration and extraction of salt and potash and the creation
of caverns for the storage of natural gas and other hydrocarbons or the storage of compressed air for
electricity generation.
