Dancing With the Cars: A Gala Overture to the 7th Annual Orinda Classic Car Show

ORINDA, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 19, 2011) - On Friday, September 23rd at 7 p.m., Orinda, CA will welcome dancing in the streets as Avenida de Orinda is tented for a fun-filled, preview party for the next day's 7th Annual Classic Car Show. The exclusive evening, presented by Mechanics Bank, will include hosted cocktails, dinner, music, exhibits and a live auction. Proceeds benefit the Educational Foundation of Orinda.

Guests will enjoy an incredible collection of cars in the "Orinda Through The Years" exhibit, by the Orinda Historical Society and Orinda Motors, combining vintage and classic cars with historical memorabilia in a museum-like setting. The party will also feature the one-of-a-kind "Driver" car auction, where donated, pre-owned cars certified by Orinda Motors and meticulously detailed by Professional Automotive Collision & Detail will be presented to the highest bidders. The vehicles will be perfect as a youth's first car or for a BART-driver. Other great items will be auctioned, as well. If you are interested in donating a car, please contact Chip Herman at ChipHerman@OrindaCarShow.com.

Invitations will be sent to past attendees, but space is limited. Anyone wishing to attend this not-to-be-missed event should purchase tickets now by going to www.payplanner.net/efo/dancing2011.php or by contacting CarolynRHerman@earthlink.net.

The Orinda Annual Classic Car Show, the following day on September 24th from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., will delight car fans of all ages. Last year's event featured more than 165 car entries and raised $32,000 for local charities. "This year's car show is special because it will expand to display classics 'on the green' thanks to the Orinda Country Club's support in opening its beautiful 16th golf fairway for displays," says event founder Chip Herman. "There'll be the flavor of 'Pebble Beach' in Orinda with something for everyone."

A plus these days, the Saturday car show is free, but a donation of $10 will add the thrill of riding in one of the classic cars during the parade at the close of the show. Additional information about the show can be found at www.orindacarshow.com.

Bring the family and head to Orinda to enjoy an amazing display of classic cars and motorcycles, as well as the food and music. The Saturday show will be held in Orinda Village at Orinda Motors, located at 63 Orinda Way.
