Dane Creek Capital Corp. acquires a 30% stake in Your True Companion Pet Products Inc.

MISSISSAUGA, ON--(Marketwired - November 22, 2016) - The management team at Dane Creek Capital Corp. ("DCCC" or the "Company") is pleased to announce it has acquired 30% of Your True Companion Pet Products Inc. ("Companion Pet Products"). Financial details were not announced.

Companion Pet Products is the creator and manufacturer of a number of brands including True Raw Choice treats and supplements, Pawzzie Kangaroo treats and chews, and True Pure Choice pet food for dogs and cats. Its products can be found in Pet Valu and Global Pet Foods stores as well as pet specialty retail outlets across Canada. DCCC's investment will assist Companion Pet Products with expanding its existing distribution in Canada and preparing for entry into the United States. Companion Pet Products was founded in 2011 by Paul Spindler and family who continue to operate the business. Spindler's vision from the start has been focused on providing single protein, all natural products made with human grade ingredients.

Companion Pet Products is the third portfolio company for DCCC, a merchant banking operation based in Mississauga, Ontario focusing on pet industry investments. Earlier this month, the Company announced the creation of its wholly owned subsidiary Dockside Pet Products & Services Inc., a Nova Scotia-based manufacturer of pet treats, meal mixers, and meal toppers crafted using ingredients from rescued fresh food and sustainable sources. Last week, the Company also announced its acquisition of a 48% interest in Midgard Insect Farm Inc., a producer of cricket meal for pet food, which is a key ingredient in the Dockside brand of products.

Companion Pet Products recent emphasis has been on expanding its True Raw Choice line of supplements as well as its range of non-traditional protein products, like Pawzzie kangaroo treats, and the new infusion treat line. Spindler is also keen to continue sourcing novel proteins which are in increasing demand by pet owners seeking to reduce the amount of hormones and antibiotics their pets consume as part of a traditional protein diet.
