Daniel J. Macdonald Building in Charlottetown Introduces Enhanced Security Measures Effective November 20, 2006

CHARLOTTETOWN, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 15, 2006) - Effective Monday, November 20, 2006, the Daniel J. MacDonald (DJM) Building in Charlottetown will introduce enhanced security measures.

As a federal government head office, Veterans Affairs Canada facilities must follow the Government Security Policy. These measures will also ensure that security in the DJM is consistent with the security measures in the Dominion building and the new Government of Canada building (Jean Canfield Building).

The public is asked to enter the Daniel J. MacDonald Building through the Grafton Street entrance.

Public events, such as the annual Remembrance Day Open House, will continue to be hosted in the atrium of the Daniel J. MacDonald Building.

Veterans Affairs Canada appreciates the public's cooperation and patience during the implementation of these new measures.
