DarbeeVision Debuts Image Enhancement Accessory Box for Home Theater Market at CEDIA Expo 2010

Offers More Immersive, Realistic Experience for HD and Legacy Television Viewers Than Ever Before

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - September 22, 2010) -  DarbeeVision, Inc., a pioneer in the field of digital image enhancement, will announce at the CEDIA Expo 2010 the availability of its new accessory box for the home theater market -- the DarbeeVision Visual Presence Processing Box (Darbee Box). The Darbee Box represents a level of immersive realism for home entertainment which has not yet been available to audiences, as previous attempts by others at enhancement often cause unnatural artifacts, noise or inappropriately modify some parts of the image.

The Darbee Box can be placed between the source and display of any home entertainment system, and will enhance the output of DVD, Blu-ray, video games, and media players. A plug-and-play unit that does not require tuning or calibration, a simple remote control allows consumers to choose the most pleasing viewing experience for any video display device or any home theater system, anywhere in the house.

By simply plugging in the Darbee Box, viewers of standard-definition legacy TVs can also benefit from an enhanced viewing experience, as the Darbee Box enhances the output of both standard and high-definition TVs.

"CEDIA Expo is the top tradeshow for the residential electronic systems industry, and we feel it is the perfect launching pad for our new add-on accessory box," noted Paul Darbee, DarbeeVision's founder and CEO. "Our new DarbeeVision Visual Presence Processing Box represents the next generation of image quality for all digital image content -- and we are excited to share it with the growing ranks of CEDIA professionals." The Darbee Box will first be offered through home theater installers, dealers and distributors.

DarbeeVision's proprietary technology takes pictures beyond what even the most perfect camera and display systems can produce. Taking into account what the human visual system does when images are viewed is the key to achieving the best images possible. By using computers to process an image in the same way a human brain does and then adding these results back into the original image, pictures take on new properties that are both unexpected and visually gratifying.

Darbee processing happens in real-time, with performance surpassing HD 1080p/60, and integrates easily into the video processing pipeline. The processing is local, modifying the image luminance on a per-pixel basis with no effect on grain, noise or pre-existing sharpening. Going beyond the limitations of optics and electronics and taking into account what the human visual system does when images are viewed, achieves an extraordinary sense of realism and depth.

Darbee continued, "The benefit of the Darbee Box is clearly evident in the image that results. The consistent feedback that we have received is that people prefer the depth and clarity enhancement that Darbee technology adds. Our images resonate with the viewer, because by putting into an image more of what the brain is expecting to take out, Darbee-enhanced images help the viewer to see them better."

During CEDIA Expo, DarbeeVision will be showcasing their solutions at the Georgia World Conference Center in collaboration with Entertainment Experience, creators of the world's first, 3D, multi-dimensional color technology, eeColor™.
