Dario Romero on the Alouettes' D-Line

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 26, 2006) - Montreal Alouettes' Vice President and General Manager Jim Popp announced today the signing of defensive lineman Dario Romero to a one-year contract plus an option.

Dario Romero (6'3", 300 lbs.) is a defensive tackle who started his career with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2001, making 20 tackles and three quarterback sacks in 12 games. He then went on to the NFL with the Miami Dolphins where he played four seasons through 2005. Romero made 26 tackles in 22 games, adding 3.5 sacks with the Dolphins. At Eastern Washington University, he played with offensive tackle Luke Fritz. Romero is 27.
