MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - April 10, 2014) - One of the UK's top interior design studios, Darren Mercer Interiors, has announced plans for a new office in Southampton's London Road.
The company already has premises in Stockport, and were looking for a suitable location for a new hub which will take care of the expanding firm's business in the South of England, Wales, and wider Europe. The office will open with a team of interior designers, CAD technicians and administrative staff totalling 13 people. It will be the company's largest of their three locations.
The agency serves both private and commercial clients, having worked on a range of properties from tiny studio flats and one-bed bungalows all the way up to period Country Houses and Victorian mansions. They also specialise in retail spaces and office buildings, and Darren Mercer Interiors have already secured a contract for the redevelopment of a large department store in Southampton's City Centre West Quay Retail Centre.
Darren Mercer, director of the company and the man who created it 8 years ago, said it wasn't a difficult decision to choose Hampshire's largest city as the location for their new hub.
He explained "First and foremost we were looking for a city in the South of England which would best represent our ethos of environmental protection and eco-friendly policies. As soon as you exit the motorway and enter the city you're surrounded by trees and parks where ever you look, so we knew we were going to be comfortable here.
Additionally, the area is in a rapid state of growth, much like our own company. Whether it's the city's football team, the commercial development or the famous and still improving cruise liner facilities, everything seems to be moving in the right direction for Southampton and we want to be a part of it."
The organisation's new Southern England and European Headquarters will be responsible for increasing the company's clientele in Europe, where they have already seen steady progress.
Last year, the team's designers from the Liverpool branch completed 3 stunning mountain Chalet renovations on the Swiss-French border, and have plans to open a subsidiary on the continent within the next 5 years.
As well as having their eyes firmly set on European success, the progressive design studio also has plans to cast their net into North America, having already completed projects in Colorado and New Mexico over the last 5 years.
