Data Domain Ranked Both Highest In-Use and Highest In-Plan Deduplication Vendor at Fortune 1000 Enterprises

New TheInfoPro™ Storage Wave 10 End User Study Points to Increased F1000 Spending on Data Deduplication

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - November 27, 2007) - Data Domain (NASDAQ: DDUP), a leading provider of Deduplication Storage systems, today announced results from the TheInfoPro's new Wave 10 Storage End User Study that cited Data Domain as both the top in-use and top in-plan Data Deduplication vendor at Fortune 1000 Enterprises. In addition, the new study also revealed that Data Deduplication technology has retained the top spot on the TheInfoPro's Fortune 1000 Storage Networking Technology Heat Index®, which gauges immediacy of user needs and planned spending for each technology.

TheInfoPro (TIP) is an independent research network and leading supplier of market intelligence for the Information Technology (IT) industry. TIP's Storage Study details technology adoption trends and timeframes, management techniques, and vendor performance data for the Storage industry.

Robert Stevenson, Managing Director of Storage Research for TheInfoPro, said, "After first rising to the top of our Technology Heat Index in our Spring 2007 Wave 9 Storage Study, Data Deduplication is still leading the pack in terms of immediacy of need and planned spending in Fortune 1000 enterprises. In the previous Wave 9 study, Data Domain was the in-use leader. Our new Wave 10 study shows that, in addition to remaining the lead in-use deduplication vendor, Data Domain is now also the lead in-plan vendor. This reflects building momentum for both data deduplication technology and for Data Domain with these users."

Additional results from TheInfoPro's new Wave 10 Storage End User Study include:

-- 75% of Fortune 1000 enterprises interviewed are either using,
piloting, or have data deduplication in near or long-term spending plans.
-- At a company level, Data Domain was the only vendor to receive the
highest possible rating for Delivery as Promised, Technical Innovation and
Strategic Vision, and it scored the highest of all rated vendors in Value
    for Money.
-- Data Domain was the only technology vendor in the study that received
the highest possible rating across all 5 product rating categories:
Interoperability, Features/Functions, Product Quality, Product Performance
    and Product Reliability.
-- 0% of those interviewed indicated that they "would definitely consider
switching from Data Domain." Data Domain was the only vendor to sustain
    this loyalty.

"TheInfoPro's new Wave 10 Storage Study shows both Data Deduplication's segment momentum in the storage market, and Data Domain's leadership position," said Brian Biles, Vice President of Product Management for Data Domain. "There's a big gap between many vendors' intentions in deduplication storage and the customer satisfaction they deliver. As TheInfoPro shows, Data Domain is providing leadership where it counts -- in deployment."
