Data Evolution Completes Acquisition of AMD Personal Internet Communicator (PIC) Device Assets

Acquisition expands innovative thin client strategy

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 24, 2007) -

Attention Technology/Business Editor

Data Evolution Holdings, Inc. (PINK SHEETS:DTEV) announced today that it has completed the acquisition from Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE:AMD) of the assets used in the manufacture of AMD's Personal Internet Communicator (PIC) device. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The company's wholly-owned subsidiary, Data Evolution Corporation (DEC) is the manufacturer of the Clio® NXT™, the world's only full-sized, Windows CE, convertible notebook, and the Cathena®, a Windows CE ultralight notebook computer.

"This is an exciting acquisition for DEC," said Robert Sowah, DEC's Chief Executive Officer. "We are aggressively pursuing our thin client strategy, part of which calls for expansion into high-growth markets. Adding the PIC product design to our portfolio of products is a significant step in that direction."

Combined with the company's existing line of mobile computer offerings, the addition of the PIC product design, which is a low-cost, low-power desktop computer, makes DEC a leading supplier of innovative thin client products.
