Data I/O Announces Support for SOT-23 Packages in Its Automated Handlers

REDMOND, WA--(Marketwire - September 9, 2010) -  Data I/O Corporation (NASDAQ: DAIO), the leading provider of manual and automated programming solutions, today announced the capability to support SOT-23 device packages with its PS Series automated handlers.

For the SOT-23 (Small Outline Transistor package, 2.9 mm x 1.3 mm), one of the smallest device packages commonly used for non-volatile memory, reliable handling and programming the package has proven to be a challenge for industry players. With Data I/O's PS Series automated handlers, customers can be assured that their devices will be handled unequivocally with the highest yields, no matter what size the package is.

"Our recent successful deployment of small IC package support for the PS388/588 demonstrates that Data I/O continues to be the solution leader in the programming industry. For some time there has been an unmet need in the offline automated programming market to support smaller programmable IC packages, like SOT-23. Our ability to support the smallest device packages is a testimony to our leadership in providing application innovations for the programming community," said Carl Olson, Data I/O's Director of Engineering.
