Datalliance Delivers More Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Innovations for Consumer and Industrial Markets

Latest Release of Cloud-Based Platform Provides Immediate Access to Important New Capabilities and User Productivity Enhancements

CINCINNATI, OH--(Marketwired - Feb 12, 2015) - Datalliance today announced immediate availability of the latest release of the Datalliance VMI platform with a number of important new capabilities. Enhancements in this release were driven by feedback from the global user community combined with Datalliance vision for the continued evolution of the VMI process. New capabilities are available for immediate use by Datalliance VMI customers and their trading partners at no cost, and with no need to install or upgrade software. Datalliance delivers enhancement releases three times per year, with 45+ releases having been delivered to date.

Enhancements are primarily focused on increased VMI Analyst productivity, continued refinement of the overall user experience, and the addition of new capabilities in the areas of order management, returns automation, and reporting. Highlights include:

  • A significantly enhanced 'Item Details' screen which is used extensively by VMI Analysts. Enhanced organization, one-click navigation to supporting details, color-coding, hover information, and powerful new graphing options put a tremendous amount of information at the analyst's fingertips while keeping the overall experience clean and intuitive.
  • New order management capabilities that help the VMI planner closely align replenishment orders with the desired delivery frequency for a given customer location, and that enable the use of alternate shipping locations (e.g. manufacturing plant vs. mixing center) to utilize availability in different lanes.
  • New returns automation capabilities that provide alternative ways to incorporate a supplier's RMA number, and that enable automatic selection of an appropriate carrier and freight terms based on the extended weight of the return shipment.
  • Enhanced reporting capabilities for tailoring of on-demand content for different users.

As with every release, a number of general technical and performance enhancements are also included to further support overall system scalability, reliability and availability.

"We are committed to continuous innovation of the VMI business process as well as the Datalliance VMI platform," said Carl Hall, Datalliance CEO. "Because input to our enhancement process comes from all segments of our global customer base, all Datalliance users benefit from best practices across multiple industries. The additional advantage of delivering our VMI platform as a cloud-based service is that everyone gets access to new capabilities right away without the need to perform time-consuming software upgrades. That greatly reduces the time-to-benefit for our both customers and their trading partners."
