Datalliance VMI Delivers New Vendor Managed Inventory Innovations

Latest Release of Cloud-Based Platform Provides Immediate Access to Important VMI New Capabilities for Consumer and Industrial Supply Chains

CINCINNATI, OH--(Marketwired - Oct 31, 2013) - Datalliance today announced immediate availability of the latest release of the Datalliance VMI platform with several important new capabilities as well as many user-driven ease-of-use features and enhancements. This is the third enhancement release delivered in 2013. New capabilities are available for immediate use by Datalliance VMI customers and their trading partners at no cost, and with no need to install or upgrade software. Highlights include:

  • Short Availability Alerts - Planners are notified if a product needing replenishment has limited or no availability so that shipments can be planned accordingly. A file with items that have limited or no availability can be passed from the user's ERP system or any other source. Various actions to be taken for such items can be configured by the user.

  • Depot Order Load Building - This new capability targeted to suppliers serving 'Club' retailers enables building and combining multiple individual store-level orders into full truckload shipments to customer depots for cross-docking. This capability will also be valuable to industrial wholesalers and healthcare environments with cross-dock requirements.

  • Integration with Advanced Load Building Technology - This new capability allows suppliers to further optimize shipments by integrating Datalliance directly with specialized truck building technology they have in place. This is especially useful for certain types of products with complex load-building factors.

  • Expanded Localization Capabilities - As part of Datalliance's on-going work to support multi-national VMI programs, the Datalliance Secure Reporting site accessible by a supplier's trading partners is now available in English, Spanish, German and French languages.

"We are committed to continuous innovation of the VMI business process as well as the Datalliance VMI platform," said Carl Hall, Datalliance CEO. "Input to our enhancement process comes from our global customer community and all Datalliance users benefit from best practices across multiple industries. The additional benefit of delivering our VMI platform and service using the cloud-based approach is that all of our customers get access to new capabilities without the need to perform a time-consuming software upgrade. All of our customers, as well as their retail and wholesale distribution partners, can start using these new features immediately as soon as they are released. That greatly reduces the time-to-benefit for everyone."
