DataTorrent Named a Gartner "Cool Vendor" in In-Memory Computing

Report Recognizes Innovative, Impactful and Intriguing Vendors in the In-Memory Computing Market

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 21, 2015) - DataTorrent, creator of DataTorrent RTS, the world's first enterprise grade real-time stream processing platform on Hadoop, today announced that the company has been named a "cool vendor" in the Gartner report "Cool Vendors in In-Memory Computing Technologies, 20151." The report provides IT leaders engaged in defining their organization's digital business strategies with an assessment of four in-memory computing vendors, their technology differentiations and the challenges that they face.

"Organizations are looking to gain competitive advantages and operational efficiencies with faster time-to-insight and time-to-action with real-time analytics on data-in-motion," said Phu Hoang, co-founder and CEO, DataTorrent. "We are honored to receive this recognition, and believe it is a testament to the innovation that sets DataTorrent apart from other solutions by delivering customer value."

Gartner's report recommends that organizations "Define a holistic IMC strategy that can support multiple digital business scenarios. IMC is a set of technologies that can target a variety of use cases where performance, scale and real-time insights are critical...By anticipating future trends, small IMC-focused (often startup) providers continue to have an innovative edge over software megavendors. Cloud and open source are often the delivery models chosen by the innovators, which contribute to making IMC affordable for small or midsize businesses (SMBs) and startup organizations."

Each year, Gartner identifies new Cool Vendors in technology and publishes a series of research reports evaluating these innovative vendors, their products and services. As one of the world's leading information technology research advisory companies, Gartner defines a Cool Vendor as a company that provides technologies or solutions that are innovative, impactful and intriguing.
