DataTorrent Offers Deeper Integration With Microsoft Azure HDInsight to Bring Big Data Unified Batch and Stream Processing to the Enterprise

Organizations Will Now Be Able to Drive Greater Business Value From Big Data

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Sep 29, 2015) - STRATA -- DataTorrent, a leader in real-time big data analytics and creator of DataTorrent RTS, the world's first open-source, enterprise-grade unified platform for both stream and batch processing on Hadoop, today announced DataTorrent RTS is teaming up with Microsoft Azure HDInsight via the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. The integration will help spur successful adoption of Hadoop by providing a single platform that delivers enterprise-grade stream and batch processing.

Azure HDInsight is a cloud-based Hadoop distribution powered with the ability to handle any amount of data, from terabytes to petabytes, on demand. With the integration of DataTorrent RTS, Azure HDInsight customers will now have access to enterprise fault-tolerance, performance and scalability with greater ease-of-use for unified stream and batch processing.

"Enterprises are continuing to look to the cloud to enable easy, rapid deployment of big data analytics," said Phu Hoang, CEO and co-founder, DataTorrent. "Our collaboration with Microsoft will help increase adoption of big data projects by increasing accessibility to unified batch and stream processing, allowing organizations to uncover insights in a timelier manner."

Integration between DataTorrent and Microsoft technologies enables organizations to accelerate time to insight, take action rapidly and gain greater business value from big data. With DataTorrent RTS, Azure customers will be able to:

  • Deploy DataTorrent RTS directly from the Azure Marketplace
  • Ingest data from multiple sources in an easy, security-enhanced, high-performing and fault-tolerant manner
  • Rapidly create and deploy batch and streaming big data applications

"Organizations today create value by reducing time to insight and taking action quickly," said Tiffany Wissner, senior director of data platform marketing at Microsoft. "By bringing DataTorrent RTS to Azure HDInsight, we are offering our customers the ability to process fast, large streams of data in real time on Hadoop with the security and scalability of Microsoft Azure."

DataTorrent RTS provides a single, unified stream and batch processing platform that enables organizations to reduce time to market, development costs and operational expenditures for big data analytics applications. With DataTorrent RTS, organizations can streamline their batch and streaming data processing with a data pipeline approach. Analyzing data while it is in motion and automating actions drives faster business value, while still preserving existing business practices for ad-hoc processing.

DataTorrent RTS is available on the Azure Marketplace in October 2015. For more information, please visit here.
