DATATRAK Announces the Appointment of New Independent Director

Company Fills Vacancy in Class II of the Board of Directors With Appointment of Andrew Pitler as Independent Director

CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwired - November 16, 2015) - DATATRAK International, Inc. (OTCQX: DTRK), the leader in developing cloud-based, unified dClinical technologies and delivering related services for the clinical trials industry, today announced that it has filled the existing vacancy in Class II of the Board of Directors and added a new independent member to its Board with the appointment of Andrew Thomas Pitler as an independent director. Mr. Pitler's appointment was effective at the conclusion of the regularly scheduled Board of Directors meeting on November 11, 2015.

As previously disclosed, the Company's Board size has been set at six directors for some time, with five current Board members and one vacancy in Class II. Thus, no further addition to the Board size was required to fill the existing vacancy. The Company identified Mr. Pitler through its process of outreach with shareholders, including input from its independent strategic Human Resource advisor. After thorough evaluation of candidate qualifications in light of the Board's criteria, the Board recommended the appointment of Mr. Pitler as an independent director. Mr. Pitler's interests are directly aligned with shareholders, as he has been a significant shareholder of DATATRAK since 2010 and is currently the beneficial owner of 2.9% of DATATRAK shares. With this new appointment, DATATRAK will have five independent directors on its Board.

Mr. Pitler joins DATATRAK with significant health care industry experience. Prior to his retirement in December 2013, he was the Vice President of Sales for Health Integrated, Inc. for seven years. Health Integrated provides a variety of integrated general and behavioral health services to health and insurance markets. From 1999 to 2006, Mr. Pitler held a variety of senior management positions with Neoforma, Inc. who designed, sold and deployed online contract and purchasing services for hospitals and their medical/surgical suppliers. Mr. Pitler has been a member of the Board of Directors of two private companies and has strong working knowledge of the challenges and needs of small health care companies.
