David Adelson Named Director of Sales & Marketing for the Peabody Orlando

ORLANDO. FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 19, 2005 --David Adelson has been named director of sales and marketing for The Peabody Orlando, the luxurious 891-room, 57,000 sq. ft., multi award-winning hotel on International Drive. Prior to joining the hotel, he was director of sales and marketing at the Grand Hyatt, New York City, a landmark Hyatt property.

A native of Bucks County, P.A., Adelson attended Pennsylvania State University. Adelson later taught hospitality classes at Drexel University, Cornell University and Boston College. Adelson was immediately attracted to the hotel/hospitality industry and, in 1993 began his career at the Hilton Cherry Hill, Cherry Hill, N.J., where he was soon promoted to director of sales. Adelson furthered his career as director of sales at the Warwick Hotel & Towers, Philadelphia, P.A.

In 1999, Adelson's reputation attracted the attention of the upper echelon corporate sales executives at Hyatt Hotels. Thus began his stellar rise in the Hyatt sales and marketing hierarchy beginning with the Grand Hyatt, Washington, D.C., as associate director of sales and marketing.

Just a year later, he was tapped to lead the sales and marketing strategies for the Park Hyatt, Philadelphia, P.A., where he rapidly succeeded in expanding a modest $4,000 account to an impressive $1.9-million. His next assignment was as director of sales and marketing for the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge, M.A. After a year of successes in Boston, Adelson was promoted to the new Hyatt Regency Philadelphia where he received Hyatt's prestigious 2002 Sales Director of the Year award.
