LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 21, 2014) - Platinum Equity announced today that David C. Boutry has joined the firm as a principal and head of the firm's global business development team. He is based in Los Angeles and oversees Platinum's deal origination resources around the world.

Mr. Boutry has spent more than 20 years in investment banking and private equity, and most recently served as Managing Director at Deutsche Bank Securities. As a senior member of Deutsche Bank's Financial Sponsor Group, Mr. Boutry provided a full range of investment banking services with coverage responsibility for many of the world's largest private equity firms.

Mr. Boutry is the latest in a series of key additions to the Platinum deal origination team. Earlier this year the firm hired Craig Ashmore, a former executive vice president for planning and development at Emerson with more than two decades of experience as a corporate dealmaker and executive.
The firm also recently added two other principals, Randy Teo and Soo Jin Goh, in Singapore to help drive deal flow in Asia. Mr. Boutry said the team would continue to grow with additional hires in 2015.
Prior to Deutsche Bank, Mr. Boutry was a Senior Managing Director at Bear Sterns & Co., Inc, where he was responsible for senior level financial sponsor coverage. Mr. Boutry was previously a Vice President and Partner at Westbrook Partners, LLC and has held positions at Merrill Lynch & Co. and Chase Manhattan Bank. He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada.
