Davie Yards Inc. Appoints New Director

Davie Yards Inc. ("Davie" or the "Company") (TSX:DAV) announces today that Mr. Donald W. Campbell has been appointed a director of the Company effective today. With the addition of Mr. Campbell to the board, Mr. Gilles Gagne, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company will step down as a director effective today.

Mr. Campbell is a senior strategy advisor with the law firm Davis LLP. Prior to joining Davis, Mr. Campbell was Executive Vice President of CAE Inc. He joined CAE Inc. in September 2000 to serve as Group President of the Military Simulation and Training Division until June 2006. Prior to his time at CAE Inc., Mr. Campbell had a distinguished career with Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. He served most recently as Deputy Foreign Minister and, as the Prime Minister's Personal Representative for G-8 Summits (1997 to 2000). In previous assignments, Mr. Campbell served as Canada's Ambassador to Japan (1993 to 1997), Deputy Minister for International Trade (1989 to 1993) and Canada's Ambassador to Korea (1984 to 1985). Mr. Campbell is the Past Chair of the Aerospace Industry Association of Canada. He currently sits on the board of directors of Mecachrome International Inc., Rutter Inc., Toyota Canada Inc., Canfor Pulp Holding Inc., ExelTech Aerospace Inc. and the Perimeter Institute.
