Daxor Announces the Receipt of a Contract for the Placement of a BVA-100 Blood Volume Analyzer at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, South Carolina

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jun 23, 2015) - Daxor Corporation (NYSE MKT: DXR), a medical instrumentation and biotechnology company, announced the receipt of a signed contract from Self Regional Healthcare of Greenwood, South Carolina for the placement of a BVA-100 Blood Volume Analyzer. Self Regional was founded in 1951 as Self Memorial Hospital.

Self Regional Healthcare serves Greenwood and the surrounding seven counties by offering advanced care through their Cancer Center, Heart Center, Women's Center and Joint Center. Self Regional also offers services in the areas of rehabilitation, neurosurgery, vascular care and other specialties. The Hospital also has a Wound Healing Institute. Self Regional is a major referral and medical center providing advanced healthcare services to a population of more than a quarter of a million people in the Lakelands region of upstate South Carolina.

Prior to signing the trial agreement, the hospital was obtaining blood volume measurement through a regional radio-pharmacy. The physicians at the hospital use the test for critically ill patients and felt there was a significant advantage to having a BVA-100 on site in order to obtain quicker results.

Dr. Priya V. Kumar, a cardiologist at Self Regional was quoted as saying the following regarding the placement of the BVA-100 Blood Volume Analyzer: "The BVA-100 has significantly improved our management of heart failure patients. It has proved to be a valuable tool in assessing volume status in difficult heart failure patients, especially those that are obese and those that are in renal failure. The BVA-100 has provided us with a great non-invasive way to assess a patient's volume status accurately."

Dr. Joseph Feldschuh, a cardiologist and the CEO of Daxor said: "As patients become more aware of how essential blood volume measurement is, they will better understand the importance of being treated on the basis of direct measurement rather than estimates based on imprecise measures."

The Daxor website provides important additional information to help patients understand the benefit of blood volume measurement and which medical facilities in various states across the country are able to provide this life saving test.
