Daxor Announces a Union Hospital Purchase and a Separate Trial of Blood Volume Analyzer BVA-100

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - August 13, 2008) - Daxor Corporation (AMEX: DXR), a medical instrumentation and biotechnology company, today announced a purchase by Union Hospital and a separate trial agreement for the Blood Volume Analyzer BVA-100.

The purchase of the BVA-100 was received from Union Hospital of Elkton, Maryland. Since 1908, Union Hospital has provided quality health and wellness services to residents in Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania. As a 126-bed state-of-the-art not-for-profit hospital, Union Hospital is the leading provider in the areas of inpatient, outpatient and emergency services. With a comprehensive health education program, a team that includes about 260 physicians and 900 staff members, the recent addition of its new inpatient tower, renovations to the pediatric unit and an expanded intensive care unit for patients needing specialized care, Union Hospital continues to demonstrate its commitment to ensuring high quality state-of-the-art health care.

The trial agreement for a BVA-100 was received from a 961-bed major medical center located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The trial was arranged to allow for a 90-day evaluation period of the BVA-100 to demonstrate the clinical benefit of a measured blood volume in various disease states and medical conditions. The trial also allows for the facility's nuclear medicine department to monitor the increase in patient referrals for a test that has recently been featured in peer-reviewed medical journals as an exciting new diagnostic test that can only be performed by nuclear medicine professionals and provides an evidenced-based approach to treating patients with hard to diagnose blood volume abnormalities.

Daxor's Blood Volume Analyzer BVA-100 is the only FDA approved diagnostic device which provides for a 98% accurate measurement of blood volume. Daxor Corporation manufactures and markets the BVA-100, a semi-automated Blood Volume Analyzer. The BVA-100 is used in conjunction with Volumex, Daxor's single use diagnostic kit.
