Daxor Announces Westchester Medical Center of Valhalla, NY Purchases Blood Volume Analyzer BVA-100

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - April 21, 2008) - Daxor Corporation (AMEX: DXR), a medical instrumentation and biotechnology company, today announced the sale of a Blood Volume Analyzer BVA-100® to Westchester Medical Center of Valhalla, New York.

As an academic medical center and the region's tertiary and Level 1 Trauma Center, Westchester Medical Center is on the leading edge of medical research and the latest advances in clinical care, serving more than 3.5 million people in the seven-county New York Hudson Valley region, northern New Jersey and lower Connecticut.

With more than 1,000 beds in four major facilities, Westchester Medical Center's extraordinary specialty services have made it the referral hospital of choice for physicians and patients seeking the highest level and quality of care. Westchester Medical Center is home to: the leading Kidney Transplant program in the state and one of only four Liver Transplant programs in New York; the only all-specialty Children's Hospital in the region; the highly regarded cardiology and cardiac surgery programs at the George E. Reed Heart Center; the centers of excellence in the Trauma and Burn Center and Cancer Institute; and the Neurosciences Center, offering neurosurgical and neurological care including "knifeless" brain surgery.

Daxor's Blood Volume Analyzer will be located within Westchester Medical Center's Nuclear Medicine Department and will be utilized for various disease states. A measured blood volume has been shown in recent published medical reports to be clinically superior in the diagnosis of a patient's volume status than existing surrogate markers, lab test and physical assessments within medical conditions such as heart failure, syncope and critical care.

Other leading medical institutions that have purchased the Blood Volume Analyzer BVA-100 include Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, NYU Medical Center, Methodist Hospital of San Antonio, and Queens Medical Center of Hawaii. Daxor Corporation manufactures and markets the BVA-100, the only FDA approved semi-automated Blood Volume Analyzer, which measures human blood volume. The BVA-100 is used in conjunction with Volumex™, Daxor's single use diagnostic kit.
