Deadline Approaching for Revision of Lists of Electors for Monday, September 17, 2007, Federal By-elections

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 6, 2007) - The period for making changes to the lists of electors for the federal by-elections in Outremont (Quebec), Roberval-Lac-Saint-Jean (Quebec) and Saint-Hyacinthe-Bagot (Quebec) on Monday, September 17, 2007, is drawing to a close. An elector who wants to add his or her name to the lists, or to make corrections to name or address information, should contact the local Elections Canada office in his or her electoral district before 6:00 p.m. (local time) on Tuesday, September 11, 2007.

"To ensure that their names are on the list of electors, I encourage electors in Outremont, Roberval-Lac-Saint-Jean and Saint-Hyacinthe-Bagot who have not received a voter information card or require changes to the information on the card to call their returning officer before next Tuesday, September 11, 2007," suggested Marc Mayrand, Chief Electoral Officer of Canada. "It will save them time on election day."

After the revision period ends at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2007, the returning officer in each electoral district will prepare the official lists of electors. These lists cannot be revised again before election day.

For further information, electors may contact the local Elections Canada office in their electoral district or visit www.elections.ca.
