Death of a Patient at Regional Psychiatric Centre

On January 3, 2016, Elmer Ernest Dumais, a patient at the Regional Psychiatric Centre died at the institutional hospital in Saskatoon.

At the time of his death, Mr. Dumais, 57 years old, had been serving a 3 year, 4 month sentence since November 17, 2006, for Sexual Assault, Breach of a Long Term Supervision Order and Failure to Comply with a Probation Order.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
