Death of an Inmate at Archambault Institution; Medium Security Unit

LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Dec. 24, 2015) - Correctional Service Canada

On December 24, 2015 Domenico Torrente, an inmate at Archambault Institution, in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, died at the Cité de la santé hospital in Laval.

At the time of his death, Mr. Torrente, 87 years old, had been serving a sentence of 8 years for manslaughter.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
