Death of an Inmate at Cowansville Institution

LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Nov. 12, 2014) - Correctional Service Canada

On November 10, 2014, Michel Simon, an inmate at Cowansville institution, died at a hospital in Laval.

At the time of his death, Mr. Simon, 47 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence for first degree murder since June 21, 1997.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
