Death of an Inmate at Drumheller Institution

DRUMHELLER, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - April 21, 2016) - Correctional Service Canada

On April 19, 2016, Rodney Hirsekorn, an inmate at Drumheller Institution died at a local hospital in Drumheller.

At the time of his death, Mr. Hirsekorn, 60 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence since December 15, 2006 for Second Degree Murder.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
