Death of an Inmate at Etablissement de Detention de Quebec

On June 18, 2016 Marcel Guitard, an offender under Federal jurisdiction who was on temporary detention at Établissement de détention de Québec, in Québec City, died at this institution.

At the time of his death, Mr. Guitard, 46 years old, had been serving since June 2013 a sentence of 4 years and 5 months for, among others, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Fail to Comply, Obstruction, Frauds and Robberies.

The offender's next of kin have been notified of his death.

The Sûreté du Québec and the coroner have been notified.
