Death of an Inmate at Federal Training Center-Minimum Security Unit

LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 22, 2014) - Correctional Service Canada

On September 20, 2014, Gilles Houde, an inmate at the Federal Training Center died at a hospital in Laval.

At the time of his death, Mr. Houde, 70 years old, had been serving a sentence of 3 years and 6 months for possession for purpose of traffic, traffic, indecent assault and acts of gross indecency since June 19, 2014.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
