Death of an Inmate at Federal Training Center, Minimum Security Unit

On February 26, 2015, Jacques Simoneau, an inmate at the Federal Training Center in Laval, died at the institution.

At the time of his death, Mr. Simoneau, 61 years old, had been serving since March 1, 1973 a life sentence for second degree murder.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
