Death of an Inmate at Regional Psychiatric Centre

SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwired - July 2, 2016) - Correctional Service Canada

On July 2, 2016, Traigo Ehkid Andretti, an inmate at the Regional Psychiatric Centre was found unresponsive in his cell.

Staff members immediately began performing CPR and emergency services were called. The inmate could not be resuscitated.

At the time of his death, Mr Andretti, age 40 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence since April 23, 2014 for First Degree Murder, Second Degree Murder and Offering an Indignity to a Human Body.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
