Death of an Inmate at Regional Psychiatric Centre (Prairies)


SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwired - May 26, 2014) - Correctional Service Canada

On May 24, 2014, Richard Carter, an inmate at the Regional Psychiatric Centre died of natural causes at the institutional hospital in Saskatoon.

At the time of his death, Mr. Carter, 70 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence for Second Degree Murder since December 3,1979.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
