Death of an inmate from Drummond Institution


LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 27, 2013) - On September 26, 2013, Jocelyn Brisebois, an inmate at Drummond Institution, was found unresponsive in his cell.

Staff members immediately began performing CPR and emergency services were called. The offender was taken to the Sainte-Croix Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:50 a.m..

At the time of his death, Mr. Brisebois, 31 years old, had been serving a sentence of 7 years for robbery, since July 30, 2013.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
