Death of an Inmate from Drummond Institution


LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Aug. 19, 2015) - Correctional Service Canada

On September 18, 2015, Roch Demontigny, an inmate at Drummond Institution died at Hotel Dieu Hospital in Sherbrooke.

At the time of his death, Mr. Demontigny, 53 years old, had been serving a sentence of 2 years, 10 months and 7 days since March 7, 2014 for several offenses such as Extortion, Assaults, Possession of Explosive Substances, various drug-related offenses, etc.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
